Teta Alim

Authors / Writer

A 24-year-old writer based in Washington, D.C. Her pronouns are she/her. She was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, but grew up in upstate New York. Her heritage is a mix of Gayo, Jawa and Sunda. Her conversational Indonesian is passable (probably), but her reading comprehension and writing skills in Indonesian are pretty hopeless. If you have an hour or two to spare, talk to her about music (and if you really want to get her going, ask her about Daniel Caesar). She has studied abroad in London, England, and Shepparton, Australia, but feels most at home in D.C. Most of her family still lives in Jakarta Timur. They also live in parts of Aceh and in Bandung.
