2018 — Festival Sastra Bengkulu started for the first time, with over 100 writers—including from neighboring countries, hosting events for three days until 15 July. The festival was held as a way to promote Bengkulu art and cultural tourism to support Visit Bengkulu 2020 program, and also to encourage Bengkulu youngsters to play their roles on developing their own hometown.

As of now, our resource library consists of approximately 587 writers, 801 books by 246 publishers, 736 contributing authors, 1091 (369 coverages, 210 clippings, and 512 reviews) articles published in 344 media outlets, 76 works in translation, and 58 useful resources that we consider particularly worth noting.

For short, our main feature, the writer's directory, provides a way for writers to find one another, but more importantly, the resources provided make it easy for event hosts—especially for international event hosts—literary organizers, arts administrators, librarians, booksellers, and readers to get in touch with writers. It's a HOME FOR INDONESIAN WRITERS. We strive to break down the language barriers that have prevented Indonesian books or literature from becoming more widespread.
