HANS BAGUE JASSIN, better known as H.B. Jassin, passed away on this day in 2000. During his life, Jassin was highly recognized for his work, acquiring the nickname “The Pope of Indonesian Literature” and receiving numerous awards, including the Ramon Magsaysay award in 1987.
