Born in Bone, South Sulawesi, Darmawati Majid is the mother of four children and an employee in the Gorontalo government office. She has had several essays published in the anthology MASTERA (2009), and poetry published in the anthology Kaki Waktu (Feet of Time) (2011). Darmawati published Nasu Likku dan Sajian Cerita Lainnya (Nasu Likku and Other Stories) in 2017.1
