Avram Maurits

Authors / Translator

Avram Maurits started his translation journey seventeen years ago, as a means of making additional income during his university days. Returning to his home country of Indonesia, he continued working on various translation projects, which included curated articles, legal documents, documentary subtitles, nonfiction work, and religious tracts. As he began to work in the development sector, his work started to focus more on social issues and stories from marginalized communities. Having to interact directly in grassroots-level conversations required him to keep an ear out for the subtle tones and meanings behind lengthy dialogues. Bram spent seven years translating and interpreting in the non-profit sector before eventually shifting to a new career in learning and development at a retail company.
