Founded by Rebecca Starford and Hannah Kent, Kill Your Darlings (KYD) is one of Australia’s most entertaining and influential cultural magazines. Beginning life as a print quarterly in 2010, KYD is today a vibrant and eclectic online magazine of commentary, essays, interviews, fiction and reviews.

In addition to championing Australian writers, KYD also runs several early-career writing awards, produces a regular podcast, provides professional writing services such as workshops, mentorships and manuscript assessments, and hosts literary events to foster engagement and discussion between writers and readers. We are also the publisher of the annual short-story anthology, New Australian Fiction.

About Us

For short, our main feature, the writer's directory, provides a way for writers to find one another, but more importantly, the resources provided make it easy for event hosts—especially for international event hosts—literary organizers, arts administrators, librarians, booksellers, and readers to get in touch with writers. It's a HOME FOR INDONESIAN WRITERS. We strive to break down the language barriers that have prevented Indonesian books or literature from becoming more widespread.

Questions, comments, articles, info, etc. are more than welcome. Just send us an e-mail, mention us on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook or use the contact form.
