The presence of a feature-length film by the nation's own children is believed to continue to be awaited and will spark enthusiasm for the Indonesian film industry throughout 2026.
A number of Indonesian film production houses have even made preparations by revealing their respective production and screening plans on different occasions.
Some are targeting the big-screen cinema market, which, while highly competitive, is still considered attractive and profitable. This is especially true if the film they produce can reach the psychological milestone of one million or more viewers. Meanwhile, for serials, the lure lies more in the potential for global popularity through existing over-the-counter (OTT) streaming platforms.
