She studied Indonesian literature at Padang State University. Her first novel, Keringnya Ladang Nurbaya (The Dryness of Nurbaya’s Field) tells of a woman who becomes interested in goats and converses with them on the topic of religion. She is currently working on her second novel Raja Julien & Sehelai Pizza (King Julien and a Sheet of Pizza).
