Hamzah Muhammad, an Indonesian artist, boasts a versatile skill set encompassing writing, editing, translating, and curating. He earned a master’s degree in Literary Studies from the University of Indonesia and has translated works by renowned authors like Pablo Neruda, Mahmoud Darwish, J.D. Salinger, and Charles Bukowski. As the manager of Atelir Ceremai in East Jakarta, he has curated events such as the Multatuli Art Festival and LIFEs at Salihara Art Center. Hamzah’s critical prowess earned him a 2020 Language Agency Award nomination for his book Kuasa dan Narasi and first place in the 2023 Language Agency Literary Criticism Competition. He has also edited works by authors like Seno Gumira Ajidarma, Martin Suryajaya, and Sony Karsono. Hamzah’s poetic talent shines through his 2022 collection Hompimpa Alaium Gambreng, and his latest book, Teori Penciptaan Waktu, a poetry anthology, was released in 2023. Currently, he serves as a Senior Copywriter at SHINTA VR in Jakarta.
