Karina has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Indonesia with cum laude predicate. While studying philosophy and teaching classical piano, she got her book, “Apa Itu Musik? Kajian Tentang Sunyi dan Bunyi Berdasarkan 4’33” karya John Cage (What is Music? Explorations on Sound and Silence based on John Cage’s 4’33”), published by Marjin Kiri (2014), featured in the Frankfurt Book Fair, Germany in 2014. She has also written “Music’s Critical Function to Social Conditions” featured in the book “Cultural Dynamics in a Globalized World”, Taylor & Francis Group, London, (2018), and several other articles. Her recently published books are “Musik dan Masyarakat: Filsafat Musik Theodor Adorno” (Music and Society: Theodor Adorno’s Philosophy of Music), Marjin Kiri, Serpong, (2022) and a compilation of short stories “Ibu, Masukkan Aku ke Perutmu Lagi” (Mother, Put Me Back In Your Tummy) Warning Books, Yogyakarta (2022).
