Uly Siregar is a bilingual journalist, author, and AI writing specialist with more than two decades of experience in Indonesia’s leading media.
Her work has consistently centered on human interest storytelling, strong narrative voice, and editorial integrity.
She published her essay collection Nyanyi Sunyi, launched at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in October 2023. Her short story “Bapakku” (My Father) appeared in Jurnal Perempuan and The Jakarta Post, and was selected for the anthology I AM WOMAN (2011) along with other prominent writers including Putu Wijaya and Oka Rusmini. Her latest book is a collaborative novel Muna Mencari Surga (2026). She currently works as a social worker, and lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband, 3 daughters, and two dogs.
