Times have changed, and most book activists now believe that books can only be countered with books, not through bans or burning. If anyone still thinks books can be banned and burned—and there will certainly always be groups with such primitive views—then they are profoundly out of touch with the times.
Moreover, how can anyone ban or burn books in this digital age, when books exist not only in physical form with covers and pages, but also electronically? Do the authorities even know what an e-book is? In a matter of seconds, these electronic books can be distributed anywhere, including to countries or regions that enforce bans on certain titles. How can anyone ban an e-book, and how can they crack down on a modern book that has no physical form?
