Ian Rowland
Authors / TranslatorA literary translator from Indonesian into English, living and working in the United Kingdom. He works on forest and environmental issues, primarily in Indonesia. He graduated from the School of Oriental and Afrian Studies, University of London, with bachelor and masters degrees in Indonesian, and has maintained a strong interest in Indonesian literature since then. His most recent translations include the poetry of Erna Alidjai, to be published by Chogwa zine in mid 2020. He has also translated the poetry of Theoresia Rumthe and Weslly Johannes, and the novel ‘Neath the Protection of the Ka’aba by HAMKA.
