The dynamics of terrorism in Indonesia are deeply intertwined with various factors that enable terrorist groups and actors to persist. At different phases and incidents, they camouflage themselves so effectively that they appear indistinct among the general population. Distinguishing their activities from other movements is quite challenging, except when they engage in acts of violence.

One of the key factors sustaining terrorist groups in Indonesia is funding. Two major terrorist movements in Indonesia, Jamaah Islamiyah (JI), which has re-emerged as Neo-JI, and Jamaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD), affiliated with ISIS, have not been completely eradicated to this day.

Through various means, they amass significant funds for their acts of terror, often accumulating billions of rupiahs. They frequently manipulate hadith and Quranic verses for legitimacy, exploiting societal compassion and the narrative of charitable obligations to secure regular funding from their followers and sympathizers.

This book delves into the intricacies of terrorist financing in Indonesia.

It is a collaborative effort involving numerous researchers, students, academics and activists.
