Martin Suryajaya

Martin Suryajaya obtained a doctoral degree in philosophy from Driyarkara School of Philosophy. He works as a lecturer at the Graduate School, Jakarta Institute of the Arts, and as a policy consultant at the Directorate General of Culture. He is also active as a YouTuber, broadcasting views on philosophy, literature, and cultural issues in a popular manner.

Some of his books include “Sejarah Estetika” (Aesthetic History, Gang Kabel, 2016), which won the Best Art Publication award from Art Stage 2017, and the novel “Kiat Sukses Hancur Lebur” (Success Tips Shattered, Banana, 2016), which won the Badan Bahasa Literary Award 2018 and was chosen as a Novel by Tempo Magazine in 2016. Some of his recent works include the poetry book “Terdepan, Terluar, Tertinggal” (Foremost, Outermost, Left Behind, Anagram, 2020), “Principia Logica” (Gang Kabel, 2022), and “Penyair sebagai Mesin” (Poet as Machine, Gang Kabel, 2023).
