Janet DeNeefe is an Australian-born author, cook, and cultural entrepreneur who has lived in Ubud, Bali, for over four decades after relocating from Melbourne in 1984. Alongside her husband, Ketut, she co-owns several prominent hospitality ventures, including Casa Luna Restaurant and Cooking School, Indus Restaurant and Art Space, Honeymoon Guesthouse, and Honeymoon Bakery. A dedicated advocate for Indonesian cuisine and literature, DeNeefe has published memoirs and cookbooks such as Fragrant Rice and Bali: The Food of My Island Home, leads regional culinary tours, and founded major island events including the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in 2004 and the Ubud Food Festival in 2015.
