Jacaranda

Literary Agency

Website http://jacarandalit.com/

Jacaranda is a boutique literary agency working out of Singapore, India, and the UK. They represent a diverse list of fiction and non-fiction from across Asia, and in particular a growing list of fiction from South East Asia. Their list includes authors from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Taiwan. They also represent many authors from further afield, including from the US, UK, Kenya, and Australia, making us a truly international agency.

Their list is varied and eclectic, they represent a mix of both established and debut authors. They specialise in literary fiction, good quality commercial fiction, women’s writing, crime, fantasy & science fiction. Recently they have begun building a small but growing list of translated fiction from across South East Asia and now represent a small number of translators. Their non-fiction list comprises some narrative non-fiction, memoir and travel writing as well as health & well-being, lifestyle, and business, but also like to take on unique books about unusual subjects that catch our imagination!

One of the highlight, People from Bloomington by Budi Darma was acquired in a world English rights deal by Elda Rotor at Penguin Classics. Jayapriya Vasudevan and Helen Mangham at Jacaranda Literary brokered the agreement for the book, a collection of seven short stories, with Noura Books.

About Us

For short, our main feature, the writer's directory, provides a way for writers to find one another, but more importantly, the resources provided make it easy for event hosts—especially for international event hosts—literary organizers, arts administrators, librarians, booksellers, and readers to get in touch with writers. It's a HOME FOR INDONESIAN WRITERS. We strive to break down the language barriers that have prevented Indonesian books or literature from becoming more widespread.

Questions, comments, articles, info, etc. are more than welcome. Just send us an e-mail, mention us on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook or use the contact form.
