“My dream is to eat fish.”
How difficult must life be when even the smallest things have to become dreams? A School Beneath the Sky tells the story of three children’s groups in Tasikmalaya, as documented by Udu, an Indonesian frontline educator. Driven by their belief in education, several dedicated teachers quietly work in various ways to help disadvantaged children overcome the gaps and hardships they face in their daily lives. These children include those who make a living by scavenging and are unable to attend school, as well as orphans. Outside the walls of formal education, these children are given opportunities to learn, grow, and develop.
