RUMATA’ is a house for cultural interaction. A gallery, a theater and a warm artist residence in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Aims to promote the city of Makassar as an important cultural hub through various cultural and arts programs. It is an independent artspace managed by a professional team. The development has been started in April 2011 and it is now open for public.

As of now, our resource library consists of approximately 600 writers, 829 books by 256 publishers, 771 contributing authors, 1145 (385 coverages, 224 clippings, and 536 reviews) articles published in 360 media outlets, 81 works in translation, and 58 useful resources that we consider particularly worth noting.

About Us

For short, our main feature, the writer's directory, provides a way for writers to find one another, but more importantly, the resources provided make it easy for event hosts—especially for international event hosts—literary organizers, arts administrators, librarians, booksellers, and readers to get in touch with writers. It's a HOME FOR INDONESIAN WRITERS. We strive to break down the language barriers that have prevented Indonesian books or literature from becoming more widespread.
