Kho Ping Hoo or Asmaraman Sukowati Kho Ping Hoo, a writer, if not the greatest, of cerita silat genre. Though he was educated only until the first grade of HIS (Hollandsche Inlandsche School), he had a lot of motivation and interest in reading and writing. He had written between 120 stories and 140 stories during his 30 years career. He had written stories in both Chinese and Javanese environments. He died in 1994 of heart failure.
