A graduate of the Faculty of Letters of Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta and is the author of two children’s books: Melangkah dengan Bismillah/Walking in the Name of God (KataKita, 2006), and Gadis Kecil Penjaga Bintang/Of Stars and Prayers (KataKita, 2008). Gadis Kecil Penjaga Bintang was ranked as one of the seven best children’s books in Indonesia by Goodreads Indonesia. The book has been translated into the Malay language and published in Malaysia under the title Doa Gadis Kecil/The Little Girl’s Prayer (PTS Malaysia, 2015). The book also translated into English under the title Of Stars and Prayers and included in the Indonesian Translation Funding Program for Frankfurt Book Fair 2015, Indonesia as Guest of Honor Country of the Ministry of Education and Culture the Republic of Indonesia. Wikan works as editor of literary-cultural manuscripts and fictions since 2001. Currently she works as publication manager at the Lontar Foundation, Jakarta, a non-profit organization whose primary goal is the introduction of Indonesian literature to a world readership.
