Relasi Kuali Vol. 01
Book — Anthology

Relasi Kuali was born out of an awakening. Living beings everywhere need food and drink; everything we have long considered merely a domestic sphere is, fundamentally, a center of ecological defense and a wellspring of knowledge.
Food records the footprints of Indigenous communities, preserves the counsel of local wisdom, and serves as a space of dialogue for the narratives of women who nurture life from behind the billowing smoke of the kitchen hearth. Sharing stories about what we eat is, in essence, humanity’s way of preserving its collective memory. Some memories are grand, some are small, some are unspoken, and some are nearly forgotten.
Through essays and non-fiction features, Relasi Kuali serves as a modest dialectical medium for storytelling in the simplest way possible. As homo narrans (storytelling humans), we rethink what, from where, and how humans eat—as a cultural manifestation in a world that often overlooks things it deems secondary.
Through every story brought from this dining table, we will uncover the origins of human life. We will explore how we digest with empathy, how we tend to our memories with sympathy, and how we honor each individual’s story of struggle, all to cultivate a better life.
