After six months of studying in Cuba, on March 7, 1997, I finally returned to Indonesia, which was heating up ahead of the election. I was reunited with the political hustle and bustle that colored the atmosphere at that time. I also met Ancika, my girlfriend, four years after my relationship with Lia ended.

In the middle of all that, Lia reappeared, and what happened next was simply what had to happen. A series of events that came out of nowhere amid a constantly surging political climate, right up until Mr. Soeharto announced his resignation as president of Indonesia.
