Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia (Association of Indonesian Translators), member of FIT/IFT (International Federation of Translators). Founded on February 5, 1974 in Jakarta, on the initiative of several members of the Jakarta Arts Council, Taman Ismail Marzuki board of committee, and supported by the Directorate of Education, Department of Education and Culture, and UNESCO Representative in Jakarta. Ali Ouda became the first chairman of the HPI.
