Murti Bunanta is the author of forty-eight books for children, and the first person to receive a doctorate degree from the University of Indonesia with research in children’s literature for her dissertation. She is the founder and president of KelompokPencintaBacaanAnak (Society for the Advancement of Children’s Literature), a non-profit organization that helps develop children’s reading in Indonesia.
