Home for Indonesian Writers
IDWRITERS is constantly expanding our authors and titles directory. Since 2014, our digital library has showcased a diverse range of literature from across the Indonesian archipelago. We remain dedicated to documenting literary works–old and new–as the scene evolves.
We welcome submissions across multiple genres, including poetry, fiction, book reviews, cultural essays, and literary-focused opinion pieces. Please note that we only accept previously unpublished work, and accepted drafts may be edited in collaboration with our team before publication.
As a fully independent and growing platform, we currently operate on a non-paying basis and are honored to provide a space for writers to share their voices with our community.
For non-poetry submissions, please consult these guidelines:
Submit work of up to 2,000 words maximum
Use hyperlinks when citing online sources (articles, videos, social media threads, etc.). Example: In his interview with The Guardian, Kenyan author Ngugi wa Thiong’o explained…
Follow US spelling conventions in keeping with IDWRITERS house style
Italicize non-English terms
Introduce individuals with their full name on first mention, then use last name only
Italicize book and film titles and include the year in parentheses. Example: Memories of My Body (2018)
Include a brief bio and Instagram handle (if you’d like to be tagged) with your submission
Please send your work to hello@idwriters.com. We carefully review all submissions and typically respond within 2–5 business days.
